What AI thinks I should look like
So What's the Deal about me?
Maybe you've read my Linkedin profile, and you're like "what?!??!?"

So I started life as a company employee. I moved from Philadelphia to Raleigh to Austin for tech jobs. I started as a consultant for Arthur Andersen. Then spent 10 years at IBM, and the other 10 years at tech companies (Polycom, Plantronics). I had a successful career -- mostly in the areas of finance and marketing, but I tired of the crazy corporate world. IBM even paid for my MBA at Duke University. Hence the source of the company name.

So then you see I went into starting my own business. How it happened is a long story. But, yes, a business partner and I own 5 car washes as well as a successful car wash service company for other car washes. I wanted to do something different -- I wanted to get into the world of entrepreneurship. It's very fulfilling and I enjoy it.

So what does consulting have to do with car washing? Well first of all, car washing is the very embodiment of marketing and pricing. It's not really about a new idea, it's making an idea your own. And, you know how you go to a car wash and you have all those choices (sometimes too many, sometimes too few?). And there's a monthly subscription available? (CWaaS?!?!?!) So car washing is very relevant to pricing.

Along the way, I also realized that there's a lot of people like me who didn't jump into the world of entrepreneurship and have always wanted. I want to help them! It's not that hard, I was able to do it with a non-sexy business idea. Maybe they are scared it won't work out and have a blip on their record, or shame in some way. Maybe they have skills in certain areas, but are afraid their lack of skills in others and lack confidence. Perhaps they are good at selling, but not at numbers. Again, don't fret, I can help you!

Why do I bother doing consulting if I am "successful"? I am selective on the projects I take on. But I have cycles still available, and what's more, I enjoy it! I am good at it -- and can get you results -- so it's fulfilling as I truly enjoy helping people. I also enjoy the processes of solving problems and learning new things.

Finally, you should know that I'm a child of the 80's. So I guess I always remember the A-team motto: "If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... the Duke of Profit....." Something like that. I hope I'm not that hard to find.

Anyway, "I love it when a plan comes together" - and Duke of Profit will for your success.

Best,

Erik
